Double Exposure Blackjack Online Casino Game Explained

When it comes to online casino games, online blackjack has become one of the most popular card games played online. Players can find multiple version of the game with various changes in the rules and game play. Double Exposure blackjack is one of the more popular versions, with thousands of players from around the world logging on to play for free and for real money. The name Double Exposure relates to the fact that in this blackjack game, the dealer reveals both cards to the player when the cards are dealt.

What is Double Exposure?

As opposed to a standard game of blackjack, in Double Exposure blackjack, players can clearly see what the dealer is holding as soon as the cards are dealt. This makes it easier to determine if you should hit or stick. Because players have a higher chance of winning a hand compared to regular blackjack, in double exposure, the payout limits are a lot lower. A payout for blackjack is 1:1 as is any other win in the game. The dealer also wins all ties except for a natural hand blackjack tie.

Starting the Game

With Double Exposure blackjack all of the other rules of the game apply. Like baccarat starting with wagers, this game begins with the player placing his or her bet. This can be done by clicking on the chips and placing them on the table. In this game, players can choose to play up to three hands at once against the dealer’s single hand. The aim of double exposure is to get as close to 21 points without going over 21. All of the cards 2 through to 10 are worth their face value. Face cards are worth 10 points and the ace is worth 11 points or 1 point respectively. Once the player has placed their bet, the dealer will deal the player two cards facing up and the dealer will deal himself two cards facing up.

Playing a Hand

In Double Exposure blackjack, once the cards have been dealt, the player can clearly see how his or her hand compares to the dealer’s hand. If the player has a lower hand than the dealer, they have the option of hitting (taking another card). This can be done by clicking on the hit button. If the card takes the players total over 21 points, this is called going bust and they will lose their bet. If the player sees that their hand is much higher than the dealer, they can chose to stick and see if the dealer can beat their hand. If the player is dealt two of the same cards, they can chose to split their cards into two hands and double the bet.

Winning in Double Exposure

In Double Exposure Blackjack, players can also choose to double down, which means that an additional card is drawn and the bet is automatically doubled. Once the player has made the decision to stick or to hit, the dealer must try and beat the player’s hand. In double exposure, the dealer must stand on 17 and draw to 16. If the dealer fails to beat the player’s hand, the player will win the bet. Once all of the card have been dealt, the computer will automatically determine if the player has a winning hand and will pay out accordingly.
